2018 Proprietors Reserve Pinot Noir

Pinot Noir

Russian River Valley

Release Notes

Since 1991 RUTZ Cellars has been cultivating its core bottlings from the most preeminent appellation for Pinot Noir: Russian River Valley. This appellation has now gained a world wide reputation for a terroir that balances all the elements of the sun, air and soil. Our Proprietors Reserve Pinot Noir hails from our vineyards within the cooler region of the Russian River Valley in West Sonoma County. Early morning fog, gentle midday sun, and late afternoon fog rolls in to capture our Russian River Valley terroir at its best.

Our old world Burgundian style of crafting our Pinot Noirs has been ever present over the years. Being aged in French oak from the forests of Vosges and Nevers, gives this wine its "balance" between the fruit and the oak. This creates a wine that is soft and supple on the palate that lingers and lingers.
